New Contacts !!!

I love networking !

Over the summer I participated in the Social Entrepreneurship's Field Study Program in Belize and the Dominican Republic. While in the DR the College of Business sent down a group of "guests" (donors) to watch us in action over our time there. One of our guests, Miss Jeanie founded a successful catering company here in Boston, and the Development Officer who accompanied them, Tawna Rathe, said we could contact her if we ever needed anything.

I contacted Ms. Jeanie this afternoon, asking for her help in any form (advice, insight...money, etc).
missjeaniesinc@aol.com

Also, I emailed Tawna Rathe, t.rathe@neu.edu, from the Development Office (fancy term for fundraising office) to see if she could offer any help. Unfortunately, she will be on maternity leave though, at least, February. However, her out-of-office response forwarded me to Kathleen Holtz, whom I emailed, k.holtz@neu.edu.

Find both of their emails below:
Miss Jeanie:
Dear Ms. Jeanie,

I hope this email finds you well.

This is Jahan Sharif, I met you in the Dominican Republic during the Social Entrepreneurship Field Study Program this June. I remember you told me at the reunion, that you owned a catering company, and loved to cook !

For my Transnational Activism in Civil Society class, we are required to develop a program to address a social issue here in Boston. My group and I decided to tackle poor nutrition and obesity in low-income areas. We are developing classes to teach a group of kids between the ages of 9 and 15 who are a part of the DREAM program, how to cook affordable, nutritious, and delicious dishes. The classes would be held here at Northeastern's Xhibition Kitchen.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could assist us in any way you can, and maybe, if we are able to start the program, you could participate as an honorary chef! (you would need to have the appropriate certifications, like SafeServe certification, in order to be approved by NEU's Risk Management Department).

Please respond to this email at your earliest convenience, or feel free to call me on my cell phone, listed below. Please note, however, we are on a very short time schedule.

Thank you in advance for all of your assistance, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kindest regards and Happy Holidays !

Jahan

Tawna Rathe:

Jahan
